Christine B. Fournier: Turtle Saver

Upon our return from CFB Crow Lake a couple of weekends ago, we encountered this big sweetheart on the side of the road.

"Ya'll come back now, y'hear?!"

Fast forward from then to the past Friday.  Unloading the car, I notice a plastic shovel on the floor in front of the back seat.  Puzzled, I inquired as to its purpose.

It seems that a work discussion about the above dinosaur descendant prompted Christine to load said shovel into the car in the event that we see a turtle on the road.  Turtles are fairly easy to catch, but they can still deliver a surprisingly quick, nasty bite.  So they're a shovel job.

All right, whatever.

So what do you think happened Sunday?

S'Right.  Turtle right in the middle of the road on the way home!

Now the first one was about the size of a Volkswagen.  A shovel would not have been sufficient for that one, but this second turtle was far more manageable.  So off we went; Christine making the save and me recording her good karmic increase.

You GO, girlfriend!

We're heading out tomorrow again, looking forward to celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary there.  My folks are joining us on Saturday, apparently.

**Spoiler Alert**

There may be homemade ice cream involved, perhaps even of the chocolate variety.  Christine made a yummy vanilla batch last week.  I had mine with sprinkles.

Sprinkles with a side of...cider...
