The Difference A Week Makes

The following pictures were taken a week apart.  Nanny might recall when I took the first one during her visit, while the second was taken Thanksgiving weekend.

Leaves, leaves, leaves...Mum spent a bunch of time raking when my (immediate) family visited about a month ago.  We did more during Nanny's visit, then more still when we spent the better part of four days there over Thanksgiving.  Christine dropped by the place for the afternoon on Saturday and said it's just as bad as the previous weekend.

It's not bad though.  It's actually quite pleasant work when the weather cooperates.  Christine also appeared to enjoy burning them, while a nearly-fully recovered Oscar dog got to sniff around a bit, looking rather dashing in his Chilly Dog sweater.

Ha!  Chilly dog!  I just got that...

Speaking of leaves, much like Kathy's canoe picture from an earlier post, we have another decorative piece that has found a home.  Unfortunately, I was not able to get a particularly good picture of it.

It is called The Natural Canadian Flag and was done by one Clermont Duval.  We bought it during a visit to Mattawa while spending the week at the cottage my folks would rent near North Bay.  Turns out it's basically Mr Duval's "signature piece".  See the bottom of this page for a better look.
